The Steve Jobs statue, Budapest.

The world's first public statue of Steve Jobs — a 2.2-metre bronze by Ernő Tóth at Graphisoft Park, Budapest.

Days after Steve Jobs died in October 2011, Gábor Bojár — founder of the Hungarian software company Graphisoft — decided to honour him with a statue. Five Hungarian sculptors were invited; Ernő Tóth's design was chosen.

The 2.2-metre bronze was unveiled at Graphisoft Park, Budapest, on 21 December 2011. It shows Jobs mid-keynote, gesturing to the audience with an iPhone in one hand — the pose millions knew from his product launches.

The unveiling was covered by TechCrunch, MacRumors, Cult of Mac and Atlas Obscura, and the statue has since become a stop for visitors to Budapest.

Visiting: Graphisoft Park, Záhony utca 7, 1031 Budapest (Óbuda), on the bank of the Danube.
